Your perception of me is a reflection of you my reaction to you is an awareness of me.
Remember that day when people judged you? for what you are? How you are or even Why you are?
Yes, that day when you felt that you are not worthy enough or this world is not for you, that people are very ignorant of you.
Yaa !! that is the day when you perceived yourself from someone else perspective.
When Gautam Buddha was in a foreign land, he met some people. They laughed about his dressing sense and clothes. In reply to that Buddha said with utter politeness and with sheer confidence that, in our homeland, we don’t judge people for what they wear. This story completely justifies the above statement, that whatever people perceive about somebody, represents how they are and how the other person reacts to it represents his culture and upbringing.
When we were
or are growing up, we always worry about, what people think about us, but the
real thing is everyone has their own set of problems that they are dealing with
and they don’t get enough time to think about others. You ask yourself how much
time you spend thinking about others ??
When we are born, we are like blank sheets, we don't know anything about the world or society. As we grow up our surroundings influences us in both good and bad ways. Then we enter the school where we get a real chance to change and modify our behaviour and to mend our relationships.
The friends we keep, the books we read and the relationship we form, shape our lens through which we start judging people around us. Society forces stereotypes on us like women playing with soft toys like barbie dolls and some toys similar to kitchen equipment, for men, it’s like men will be men, men don’t cry, black is wrong, white is a symbol of rightness and many more.
These stereotypes influence a lot and form our perception of others.
For example, remind yourself about your first date, when you went to meet someone. What’s the first thing did, you googled that person found his profile and created a mind map of that person. So, it’s 90% what we think and 10% how the other reacts. “First impression is the last impression of what we are talking about.
Action and reaction are always in pair and sometimes a person’s reactions or attitude toward something completely changes everything and erase all the flaws. How the other person sees us, is not in our hand, but how we react to it is in our hand. If someone is abusing you, it’s not right that you start abusing them, because that will create no difference between you and him. But politely reacting to that will not only soften your personality but also create respect for you. And who knows that the other person might ask for forgiveness.
● But the question is how can we hamper ourselves and protect our personality? Here are a few suggestions for it:
1) Avoid people who have a negative persona, or who only dishearten you.
2) Keep Talking to yourself about the goodness in you and how kind you are.
3) When people pass wrong comments or false comments on you, don’t run away from it clarify it or reply to them with politeness
4) Never fake yourself just because you want people to accept you.
5) If they love you, they will accept you the way you are, not the way they want you to be.
Lastly being real and polite, is a very difficult task in this cruel world. You will get hurt most of the time, but that will never be able to break you because you are on the right path. You don’t require any social validations for your presence, you are amazing and exquisite the way you are.
So be real brutally honest and of course utterly polite.
