• What and why is G-20?
G-20 is mistaken as a group of 20 countries but it's not true. It consists of 46 countries as in 19-countries and 1 European Union which has 27 countries itself. This sum up to 46 countries so, G-20 consist of 19 countries and European Union. This Group was formed in 1999 consisting of most developed countries including America, China, India, Russia, and many more. Not only this one of the most technologically developed countries in warfare and computing is a part of this group. India is currently the fastest-growing economy and is on a way to becoming another global leader and has the best opportunity to show the world its diplomatic and strategic Power in future.
• Aspirations and Objectives of G-20:
- To work together for economic and financial stability throughout the world.
- Create an easy financial architecture
- Prevent future financial crises and do sustainable growth.
• India and G-20:
The next year when India will be taking the presidency of G-20 is the Golden period for its representation to become a global leader.
➡️The main objectives for India in G-20 should be :
1) Food and Energy security:
With the increasing demand in the west for energy and food in underdeveloped and corona-stricken economies, India Should lead the pathway for upliftment and equitable distribution of resources.
2) Climate Change:
➡️ As the COP-27 is taking place in Egypt, which has not been taken as a serious matter, India should encourage the promising countries to fulfil the promise to provide money and other infrastructure to underdeveloped countries that was promised at Glass glow last Year at COP-26
➡️ With net zero carbon-emission aim of the world should be again revisited and revised
3) Structural change in high Institutions:
➡️ The failure of WHO in COVID-19, the United Nations in stopping the war in Ukraine and the IMF for providing funds to come out of inflation is a clear sign that these higher authorities should invite the say of countries like India, Indonesia and many more stabilization and peace maintenance.
➡️ India should Thrive to become a permanent member of the United Nations.
4) Bring Global leaders to the Table for debate and dialogue to end the war.
➡️ The best and most important aim of India, should be to bring Global Leaders to the table to talk and resolve war-like hostile situations to even arise.
➡️ Russian President since the war has not visited or become a part of the organizational meeting physically, even in the last meeting of the G-20, The foreign minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov was part, not President Putin.
India has great and valued relations with Russia, which it can use to bring him to the table for dialogue and end the Russia-Ukraine War.
If India Manages to do this it will be a direct manifestation of its diplomatic power towards becoming a Global leader. After these many countries throughout the world will be able to Trust India.
5) Terrorism:
➡️The Shahbaz Sharif-led Pakistan, which had got support from America has been recently removed from the FATF Grey list after four years. These improvements are very fatal for the world Similarly, Taliban-led Afghanistan and China’s refusal of its human rights violation in the Uyghurs ethnic group should be taken very seriously.
6) South-China Sea issue:
➡️ Growing China’s presence in South China, and recently in the Indian Ocean are a growing concern for countries like India, Indonesia, Japan, America and many more.
➡️ A Permanent solution should be found immediately.
7) Women's Rights:
➡️With the death of Mahsa-Amini a 22-year-old women Iran and Taliban-led Afghanistan are the most problematic and frightening human rights violations throughout the world. It is very important to curb this mindset and provide freedom of life, expression, speech and many more to the world’s 50% of the population.
Conclusion:
The logo for this year's G-20 is “Vasudev Kutumbkam” which means the whole world is my family. It is best to fit the current scenario and it should motivate other global leaders for peace and prosperity.
